We are happy to start off the New Year by adding a group of Woodcuts and Gouaches into the collection at the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, Al.

The Newark Museum  of New Jersey has just taken two pieces into their collection: “White Corner” an oil and wood on canvas and an “Untitled” handmade paper construction.

Two major paintings, Mostly Yellow (2001) and Untitled (1955) have entered the collection of the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  It is particularly important that these two paintings which relate in palette show the changes and development of the paintings of Clinton Hill over a forty year span.

The dates have been set for two exhibitions of the work of Clinton Hill to take place in New York in the fall of 2011. The two exhibits will open on October 13th. Pavel Zoubok will show a range of early collages (1950s), mid career constructions and handmade paper collages at his Chelsea Gallery. Meanwhile, Meredith Ward will exhibit the more minimal works of the 1960s.
